1. Who We Are

Bellbite is a food-ordering marketplace operated by Algoscape Innovations Limited ("we", "us", "our"), a company registered in England and Wales. We provide a platform that connects customers with food vendors via Telegram and WhatsApp.

For the purposes of the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018, Algoscape Innovations Limited is the data controller.

2. Scope

This policy applies to all individuals who:

  • Use the Bellbite ordering service via Telegram or WhatsApp;
  • Visit bellbite.co.uk or any related web properties;
  • Register or operate as a vendor on the Bellbite platform.

This policy should be read alongside our Terms & Conditions. .

3. What Personal Data We Collect

3.1 Data You Provide Directly

3.2 Data Collected Automatically

3.3 Payment Data

Payments are processed exclusively by Stripe, Inc. (for card payments) or Telegram Payments (for in-app Telegram payments). We do not store full payment card numbers, CVV codes, or bank account details. We receive and store:

  • Order total, currency, and payment status;
  • Stripe payment intent / charge IDs;
  • Telegram payment charge IDs.

4. How We Use Your Personal Data

We process your personal data on the following legal bases:

We do not sell your personal data to third parties. We do not share your data for third-party marketing purposes.

6. International Data Transfers

Some of our service providers (including Stripe and Telegram/Meta) may process your data outside the UK or European Economic Area. Where they do, we ensure appropriate safeguards are in place, such as:

  • The UK's International Data Transfer Agreements (IDTAs), or
  • Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) approved under the UK GDPR.

7. Data Retention

We retain personal data only for as long as necessary for the purposes described in this policy, or as required by law:

8. Your Rights Under UK GDPR

  1. Right of access — Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  2. Right to rectification — Ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
  3. Right to erasure ("right to be forgotten") — Ask us to delete your data, subject to legal retention obligations.
  4. Right to restriction of processing — Ask us to pause processing of your data in certain circumstances.
  5. Right to data portability — Receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format.
  6. Right to object — Object to processing based on legitimate interests.
  7. Right not to be subject to automated decision-making — We do not carry out solely automated decisions with legal or significant effects.

We will respond to all requests within one calendar month. We may need to verify your identity before fulfilling a request.

9. Cookies & Similar Technologies

Our messaging-bot interface (Telegram and WhatsApp) does not use browser cookies. However, our web properties (bellbite.co.uk, admin portal) may use:

  • Strictly necessary cookies — for session management and security (no consent required);
  • Analytics cookies — only with your consent, for understanding usage patterns.

A cookie notice is displayed on our web properties where applicable.

10. Children's Privacy

The Bellbite platform is intended for users aged 18 and over (or 16 and over where the legal age of contract in the relevant jurisdiction allows). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under the age of 13. If we become aware that we hold data of a child under 13 without verifiable parental consent, we will delete it promptly.

11. Security

We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data against unauthorised access, loss, alteration, or disclosure. These include:

  • Encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS) for all data in transit;
  • HMAC-SHA256 signature verification for incoming WhatsApp webhook payloads;
  • Access controls and authentication for the admin interface;
  • Regular review of access permissions.

No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure. Whilst we take reasonable steps to protect your data, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

12. Third-Party Services & Platform Limitations

12.1 Third-Party Platforms

Bellbite operates over Telegram and WhatsApp, which are independent third-party platforms. Your use of those platforms is governed by Telegram's and Meta's own privacy policies respectively. We have no control over those platforms' data-collection practices beyond what we transmit to and receive from their APIs.

12.2 Vendor Responsibility

Food vendors listed on Bellbite are independent businesses. Whilst we share the minimum necessary data for order fulfilment, we are not responsible for how individual vendors store, process, or handle data they receive in the course of fulfilling an order. Vendors accept our platform terms which include data-handling obligations, but their compliance is their own responsibility.

13. Limitation of Liability / Disclaimer

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, Algoscape Innovations Limited (trading as Bellbite) expressly disclaims all liability — whether arising in contract, tort (including negligence), breach of statutory duty, or otherwise — for any loss, damage, claim, or expense of any kind arising out of or in connection with:

  • Your use of, or inability to use, the Bellbite platform;
  • Any reliance placed on information transmitted through Telegram or WhatsApp as part of this service;
  • The acts or omissions of third-party food vendors, payment processors, or messaging platforms;
  • Any security breach, data loss, or unauthorised access to our systems that results despite our reasonable security measures;
  • Any indirect, special, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

Nothing in this clause limits or excludes liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Your use of the Bellbite platform is entirely at your own risk. We provide the platform on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of any kind, express or implied, to the fullest extent permitted by law.

14. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technology, or legal obligations. When we do:

  • The "Last reviewed" date at the top of this document will be updated;
  • Where changes are material, we will notify active users via the Telegram/WhatsApp channel or by a notice on our website;
  • Continued use of the platform after the effective date of any update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
